New Dragon Ball Movie Confirmed For 2018 Release


It's official! After a lot of rumors in the internet regarding upcoming Dragon Ball movies, it is finally confirmed. In the Jump Festa event, it was revealed that a brand new Dragon Ball movie is scheduled for a late 2018 release to celebrate the franchise's anniversary.

Most of the details are still unknown, but it was announced by Toei that Akira Toriyama, the original author of Dragon Ball, will lead the original story, screenplay, and character design, which means the new movie is cannon.
We also know that the theme for this new film will be Saiyan, the strongest race in the universe.

The main interest of the fans is what will the movie be about, and according to Toei "this new story will focus on the origin of the Saiyans strength and what it means to be Saiyan." Recently an interview with Toriyama was released, in which Toriyama speaks mainly on Saiyans, and a lot of new details about them revealed. Chances are, that details in this interview will play a key role in the movie.

For those of you who unfamiliar with Dragon Ball movies, this upcoming movie will be the third to go live in recent years, after the releases of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods in 2013, and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of 'F' in 2015.
